Net P&L
—
How is P&L calculated?
The result is calculated using the following formula:
Net P&L = Gross P&L − Entry fee − Exit fee (− Funding) Spot ROI = Net P&L / Capital Used × 100 Futures ROI = Net P&L / Margin Used × 100
- Long: Gross P&L = (Exit − Entry) × Qty
- Short: Gross P&L = (Entry − Exit) × Qty
- Entry fee = Entry notional × Entry fee%; Exit fee = Exit notional × Exit fee%
- Spot Capital Used = Entry × Qty; Futures Margin Used = (Entry × Qty) / Leverage
- Optional slippage worsens effective entry/exit before fees; optional funding applies on futures only

Example Calculation
Documented long futures example (fees off so margin vs ROI is obvious):
- 1. Long 0.5 BTC, entry $60,000, exit $63,000, 5x leverage
- 2. Price difference = $3,000
- 3. Gross P&L = $3,000 × 0.5 = $1,500 (leverage does not multiply cash P&L)
- 4. Margin used = ($60,000 × 0.5) / 5 = $6,000 → ROI = $1,500 / $6,000 = 25%
Turn on entry/exit fees in Advanced Options to see how fees eat that $1,500 before ROI.
